Tech Editing Services for Quilt Pattern Writers

You have worked many hours to create the perfect quilt pattern.  Let me tech edit your pattern to make sure it is perfect before you release it.  I am a published educational author with a Doctoral degree in Educational Technology.  I can help you ensure that your pattern is error free and easy to read.

I build relationships with my clients so I can understand your voice and help you create patterns that are clear and concise that reflect your brand and personality.  If you write quilt patterns, I would love to help you.

   1.      What is included with technical editing?

Technical editing includes proofreading a pattern for grammatical mistakes, consistency in wording and checking all the quilt math which includes yardage requirements, cutting instructions, assembly instructions, and construction methods.

2.        How does it work?

I prefer PDF's of the finished pattern where I can edit the pattern within the PDF to include tracked changes and comments.  I will send the edited pattern back to you.  You can make the changes and publish or send it back to me for a final look.

3.       How long does it take?

The time frame to edit can vary based on the complexity, quality, and difficulty of the pattern.  I will provide you a timeline for completion when you contact me, but usually the edits can be done within a few days.  The first pattern I edit for you will take the longest as we develop you style and brand.

4.       Cost of Services

Technical editing is done at the rate of $40.00 per hour.  Most tech edits require about 2 hours.  My invoices will reflect the time and billing information.  Invoices are sent at the conclusion of the project and are expected to be paid within two weeks.

Let's Work Together

I also offer other services to include ghostwriting and technical illustration which start at $50.00 per hour.  Design and layout projects vary greatly in how much time is required and I can provide an estimate when I know more about your project.
