Hello

I'm Ellen Akers, owner of Akers Quilt Design.  I'm a wife, mom, quilt pattern writer, longarmer, and educator.  I live in League City, Texas.  Bruce and I have become empty nesters as our only daughter Alexa, is off to college.  I love quilting and every aspect of quilting from pattern writing, to designing, to making and finishing a quilt on my long arm right here in my studio.

My aesthetic is a cool color palette and I especially love blue and white quilts and I adore house quilts.  When I longarm my quilts, I like dense quilting that adds beautiful texture without distracting from the piecing.  I find myself somewhere in the middle of traditional and modern quilts and pantographs.  I would love to work together with you to pick the perfect design for your quilt.
